"I not only use these trays for my outdoor garden shoes inside the back door, but I put dry cat food in them for stray cats. The dry cat food goes in dishes, and those dishes rest in these trays filled with 1/4" of water to keep ants from getting to the food. So I can say positively that these boot trays are leak-proof too! I also use these longer trays on the shelves inside a 5 ft tall mini greenhouse on our patio."
