Our Story

IRIS USA HQ

IRIS USA made its mark nearly three decades ago when it became the first company to introduce clear plastic storage containers to the United States.

As a subsidiary of IRIS OHYAMA of Japan, IRIS USA initially faced challenges in gaining traction.  However, within just six months, a major West Coast retailer adopted the product line, quickly followed by others. What began as a slow start soon transformed into rapid, nationwide growth.

As demand accelerated, IRIS USA expanded its product offerings and invested heavily in manufacturing and distribution capabilities. Manufacturing and distribution facilities were built in Wisconsin and Texas to support the company’s expanding plastic storage lines.

In 2016, IRIS USA further strengthened its U.S. presence by opening a new facility in Surprise, Arizona, which now serves as the company’s U.S. headquarters.  Continued growth led to the opening of the latest manufacturing and distribution center in Pennsylvania in the fall of 2020.

Today, IRIS USA delivers an ever growing portfolio of products, including home goods, small appliances, pet products, Japanese rice, sparkling water, and more, reflecting the company's ongoing commitment to providing solutions for everyday living® to customers across the country.
