Here's an example of what
"Here's an example of what seems like a simple idea that results in a product that is very, very useful! I'm surprised I've never seen something like this before!I have 3 very messy cats. They can't eat anything without much of it landing on the floor, or in their water. I'm constantly cleaning the patch of floor near their food. This mat is perfect for preventing endless cleaning! It's BIG, bigger than I pictured. It easily fits our very big water bowl (that is the size of a casserole dish) and 3 or 4 dishes of food (because the cats bicker a lot as well as being messy, and I give them separate bowls a lot) So now, when they knock their wet or dry food all over the place, I can just pick this up and clean it at the end of the day, instead of washing the floor every day. It's heavy enough so it doesn't move around the floor a lot, and it's easy to keep clean. It's also pretty cute! It's funny thinking of it as what the cats would be saying to me in a speech bubble if they could talk, which I would imagine to be "Why aren't you feeding me? I don't like this food! Give me more food!" Nice product!"

Awesome mat! This is cute
"Awesome mat! This is cute and cartoonish in appearance. Works well to keep my dog's bowls from sliding around and also to make water overflow messes easier to clean up. This is hard plastic, not rubbery at all---very firm. This is a great mat that easily fits both my dog's bowls."

I didn’t realize that some
"I didn’t realize that some cats can be messy eaters until my parents adopted Angel. She is a Flame Point Siamese Cat. One summer morning, my parents discovered her begging for food at their back door; she was starving. I think her previous owners must’ve abandoned her because she sheds tremendously. She sheds at least twice more than an average cat. We brush and brush her every day and she still sheds. My parents keep Angel inside their basement garage. Angel, as I stated before, is a messy eater. I was glad when the IRIS Vine Program offered me the IRIS Feeding Mat for dogs and cats. I received the WOOF! design that is medium size, perfect for a large cat or small dog. It is gray, made of light-weight plastic, and is in the shape of a speech cloud, the type used in a cartoon when someone or something is speaking. (The “WOOF!” doesn’t frighten Angel; I guess she can’t read. ) The mat is slightly buckled or warped in the center; however it still lies relatively flat. My eighty-three-year-old dad is strong enough to lift up the IRIS Feeding Mat and dump out any spilled food. On the bottom of the mat, there are supposed to be four round rubber feet to keep it from sliding across the concrete floor on which it is kept. (One of the feet became unglued and was lost during shipping; the remaining three still manage to get the job done. ) Angel has been eating food on this mat for nearly a month without any problems. She grew accustomed to using it immediately. Dad didn’t need to train Angel or coax her into using it."

This Medium Size "Woof" Feeding
"This Medium Size "Woof" Feeding Mat from Iris is just perfect for my messy dachshund. This is a plastic tray with a 1" lip that keeps most of the drips and mess confined to the tray, which makes me very, very happy. My dachshund mix has longer, wire hair and a little beard and because he's such a messy eater, the food drips off of his chin all over the floor. This tray is large enough that he can put his front feet on the tray to eat so all the drips end up on the tray. There are rubber feet on the bottom so it doesn't skitter across the floor when my dog is especially enthusiastic. It's a nice, dove grey color and has the word Woof in raised letters on the tray. Meh, I could do without the letters but whatever. It works. The only thing I'm not as thrilled with is the little part that sticks out. It's purely decorative and serves no purpose but it pokes out and I kept kicking it. I ended up moving it to another spot so it's out of the way of my feet. Still, the price is great and it works so well that I'm not deducting any stars for this. If you have a messy eater, this keeps your floors so much cleaner."

This mat is much better
"This mat is much better than I expected. It's big and it's rigid. I expected it to be like the flexible plastic mats you see in stores, but it's not. It also has little rubber bumpers on the bottom to keep it from sliding around. I'm very impressed with this mat."

Great mat that has held
"Great mat that has held up through 2 small kids that like to turn the dogs water into a water park and two dogs that occasionally like to stand on the mat and fight about their water. My favorite feature is the lip that surrounds the edge of the mat, which helps tremendously in keeping food and water contained. I've owned a number of this type of mat and I've always been disappointed by damage to my floor after water ran off the mat and ended up between the mat and the floor. This mat has completely eliminated that issue. In terms of overall quality, the mat is durable and well-constructed. Unlike other mats, the plastic is soft enough to prevent damage if the lip is stepped on. The surface of the mat cleans extremely easily with no discoloration."

It's a big plastic mat
"It's a big plastic mat that says "Woof. "That does not bother the cats at all, as they eat from it anyway. Nothing is slowing them down. It is perfect for keeping the spilled cat food in one place, and then putting it back in the bowl for the critters to eat it!It also keeps the water from splashing out. In short, it works as it should."

My cats are messy eaters.
"My cats are messy eaters. They pick up their little kibbles and drop many of them mid bite which leaves bits of dry cat food all over the floor. Once they are on the floor, the kitty brain registers them as inedible and there they stay. With this mat they are still messy eaters but instead of having to sweep up the mess, I can simply pick up the mat and pour the mess into the waste basket. Yes, it says "Woof" but my cats can't read so they don't know they are using a mat meant for dogs. And I don't care because it works. The lip is not too high to keep them from their bowls or interfere with their ability to eat."

not bad at all -
"not bad at all - this feeding mat will certainly cure the messy cat syndrome (but still won't prevent your kitty from going into your sock drawer, grabbing a rolled up one, and bringing it back to the mat to drop it in the water dish). . i'm not sure of the caricature 'swirl' of plastic - i know it's to complete the quote motif, but it ended up making the tray unusable in a small area where we have bowls for our indoor caton the other hand, the little yard ruffian we host in our garage (a 'community' cat), is reaping the benefits of his new 'WOOF' mat - kinda appropriate too, since he's unfazed by the neighborhood dogs and rules the roost of his domainwe like this mat - it is definitely going to help to keep things neat and tidy - makes any cleanup a snap and corrals the chaos of multiple feeds!"

Dogs may be our floofy
"Dogs may be our floofy bundles of love, but they are also super messy. My sweet doggo is utterly incapable of getting a drink of water without making a huge mess on the hardwood floors around his bowls. This super cute mat just solved the problem. It isn't so big as to take over the area, but big enough to contain the drinking bowl fallout. I love it!"
