I needed a shelf for

"I needed a shelf for a small collection of record albums and I didn't want to spend a couple hundred bucks. Although this is advertised for a child's room it has worked out great. The fact that it is white makes it work it any room. It is very sturdy currently holding about 50 albums. Perfect for my situation."

I found that building was

"I found that building was a challenge as you get a picture diagram and after setting up you realize that there aren’t enough hole covers for all holes and then I realized instructions aren’t good if you are following pictures correctly but there are holes when there shouldn’t be! I used gorilla glue just in case."

When I review something, it’s

"When I review something, it’s usually terrible or great. This is the latter. So, to be clear, the materials that were used in this product are subpar and you will need your own phillips-head screwdriver. The structural part is that cheap chipboard and, what I assume is melamine, is so thin it’s nearly transparent. That being said, I have spent much more money on things that are lesser in nearly every way. At $30-ish dollars, you can’t complain about these facts - unless you do not live in reality. Now on to the good stuff. To start, the items are packaged with nearly zero wasted space. This may not be important but, it speaks to their effort of good planning and design. The next thing is how the screws, wood glue, and screw-hole caps are packaged. They stick all the screw-hole caps to a piece of tape - so you aren’t likely to loose them. The screws, which are all one size, are packaged in their own little blue bag. All of this is wrapped together in another bag with wood glue, of which, they provide more than ample amounts. There is also an extra screw and cap, just in case. Next thing is the build. The assembly is designed to be stupid proof. You can’t complete the assembly and simultaneously make a mistake. The way they used dowels to guide you to the correct assembly choices is great. I never even looked at the instructions until afterword, out of curiosity. The directions supply the bare minimum. This is a good thing. Too much and it tends to be confusing. Also, the wood glue is welcome and unusually rare. It’s for where the dowels help slot the pieces together. All in all, not surprised by the material quality but, I’m VERY IMPRESSED with the thoughtfulness of the engineering. It is leagues above what many companies are willing to do. It’s a relatively inexpensive way to make the product feel like much more than the sum of it’s parts. Well done!"
