I noticed some of my

"I noticed some of my cats like drinking from the faucet when they have the chance. So I decided to try the IRIS Pet Water Fountain for Cats and Dogs for my clutch of cats. It was easy to set up, just took a few minutes. It is also easy to disassemble the fountain so it can be cleaned. The water fountain runs quietly so the sound does not disturb the cats or me for that matter. I recommend the purchase of the IRIS Pet Water Fountain for Cats and Dogs very highly for anyone owning a cat or dog."

We have two ferrets and

"We have two ferrets and a dog and have several of these fountain water bowls for our pets. This is my least favorite of the three. That's not to say it is bad, because it isn't. There are some nice things about it and it certainly works just fine. But it doesn't feel as finished and well-designed as our others. With this IRIS Pet Water Fountain for Cats & Dogs, you set the pump down inside of the container and it stays in place via suction cups. Which is just kind of odd. You are sort of building it yourself. You have to place it carefully because you will then have to carefully set the lid down on the right spot for it to line up with the pump to circulate the water. Fortunately, there is no real danger of electricity because the 120V power is stepped down by a wall-wart style transformer at the outlet and you are dealing with much lower voltage and current in the water, so even if there were a short it shouldn't harm you or the animals. Please note, this only works with 110-120Volts - it does not work with 220-240Volts. There are no instructions on which side of the filter should go on the pump side of the tank. I guess it doesn't matter? Also, my other two water fountain style dog bowls have standing water, or at least a pool of moving water, for the animal to lick up. Our ferrets love this because even though they will try to KILL YOU to avoid taking a bath, the LOVE to stand by the water bowl and splash water all over themselves. Silliest critters God created! In closing, I don't want to hate on this because it isn't terrible. It works well, and does what it is supposed to do - which is keep your pet's water moving so it doesn't get moldy or algae or scum on it and hopefully by aerating it, the water is fresher tasting and cleaner because of the filter. But this Iris Pet Water Fountain is nearly $30 and it doesn't feel as finished or professional as some of the cheaper models we own, so I'm only giving it four stars as a result. Still, I would recommend it to someone looking for a good pet water bowl/fountain if they preferred the look and style of this fountain. I hope you find this to be a helpful review. If there is anything more you would like to know, please ask. I try to check my reviews for comments and respond to them right away. If you ask something and I don't get back quickly, please check my profile page and email me and I will try to respond as soon as I see it. I think it is important for fellow shoppers on IRIS to look out for one another by letting each other know if a product is good, or if it is a stinker. I take reviewing very seriously and try to be helpful. Thank you!"

I have 3 cats, and

"I have 3 cats, and 1 cat likes it, 1 plays in it and the other one ignores it. Because of this, I have decided that it just isn't worth messing with a fountain water bowl. The concept is great, but if you can't get your cat to drink out of it, then it isn't effective. It was easy to put together, and mine doesn't leak, but it is loud. I don't care for that. It seems to be a good unit, and I like that it has a charcoal filter in it. The cord is long enough to reach most spots where you might need to plug it in. It is a nice unit, and so far it has worked well."

Water splatters when it’s turned

"Water splatters when it’s turned on. It’s not a lot, but I have wood floors. It was used and I got it for around $10. Smelled of pine cleaner, which I’m fine with. Means someone took the extra time to clean it. I put a placemat under it. Cuts down on vibration and muffles the sound a lil. Easy to assemble. I did let it run for a while, dumped the water and refilled it before I put it out for the dog. It holds a good bit and I’m pleased with it. Shipping and packaging was great for a Warehouse deal item. The dog is skittish but took to it quickly."

I've owned some pretty expensive

"I've owned some pretty expensive pet fountains. Don't get me wrong, there are some I'd rather have than this one, except for the price. So for now, I'll have this one. I was worried about several aspects of quality with this fountain, even seeing how it assembles. But after following the instructions, and plugging it in, I thought it wasn't even working. To my surprise, a couple minutes later water began trickling through the top. I cannot hear the motor! Those more expensive fountains I've had? They almost constantly whir. This is silent save the sound of the trickling water. My cat immediately investigated and happily sipped from the cascade. I would most definitely recommend this for others."

So far so good, I

"So far so good, I like because there is no splashes. My cats love it. The price is not bad. What I dont like is there nothing that shows water is low, but the noise of the pump when water is low( which is not good cuz I guess can burn out). The second thing, the top and the container with the water does not fit tight; it is very loose if you not carefull bringing to the floor you definitely will have water spilling. Third and last the top has to fit on the pump, and takes several trials to make it fit (sometimes you have to readjust the pump)."

Once I opened the box

"Once I opened the box I realized it was very simple to put together. The water does flow nicely and it took a little getting used to for my four dogs but they quickly got the hang of it. The only thing I would be changed was possibly making it battery operated because I don't have an outlet where my dogs normally eat and drink but it was a simple move and worked out just fine."

Works great!

"Good quality- quantity of water not enough to leave cats for a long time but sufficient for a weekend."
