Before trying OHYAMA Nanatsuboshi From
"Before trying OHYAMA Nanatsuboshi From Hokkaido Japanese Premium Short Grain White Rice I had never made short grain rice. Short grain rice is a little different from long grain rice- the rice to water ratio is different and because of that there is a bit of a learning curve. It took a few times to get it perfect. Once you get it the rice is tasty sticky and works well on it's own or in casseroles."

This rice is so good
"This rice is so good you really can't screw it up. It was picked last April and is good until this April 23. It's Jan 5 23 right now so. I will use this well before then. The price is high though. Costs about 4 dollars to make 3 to 4 rolls. Works out ok if you just want to make your own cheap sushi without a protein but add in "sushi grade fish" costs and you might as well just run out for some sushi. My sushi rice vinegar is 10 parts rice vinegar, 5 sugar and 1 salt. I cooked up 300g of this stuff, and had to toss the bottom layer that browned in my cooler leaving about 450 grams of cooked rice left and I added 55g of my mixture to the rice and gently folded it in for about ten minutes. Turned out awesome."

We love rice in my
"We love rice in my house so of course I had to give thus a try! While I have tasted many different types of white rice I must say the first thing that caught my eye is that this comes from Japan. This would be our first rice that isn't just picked up at a local grocery store. It comes with individual packs inside which are pre measured which I find nifty. Not like the boil in bag packages either like actual packages. The rice has a great texture once cooked (atleast in our experience of course). I like that it is supposed to be gluten free sodium free and fat free. Not that we are the most health conscious people it is the thought that counts. It tastes like well rice. I don't know what one would expect otherwise but I will say it made a banging side dish to our stir-fry! My daughter prefers it now while it is a big pricey compared to our three dollar boxes of white rice at local stores you have to remember you get what you pay for."

I recently wanted to try
"I recently wanted to try my hand at making sushi. So I opted to try to make some with this short grain rice instead of the normal long grain I'm used to. I have to say that it makes such a huge difference. This rice is perfect! With a little bit of vinegar added I was able to make perfect rolls (allowed a bit of sticky rice to maintain roll shape). This was flavorful fluffy and delicious. Would highly recommend!"

I love this Ohyama koshihikari
"I love this Ohyama koshihikari short grain rice. It is very tasty and it is very simple to prepare. You can tell the rice is authentic to Japan due to the writing on the package in only Japanese. Thankfully the directions are translated into English for easy preparation. One of the best features is the individual portioned bags for easy cooking. The flavor and texture met expectations turned out great. I highly recommend."

If you have never tried
"If you have never tried all the rice varieties out there you are missing out in a big way. I just recently started making as many different kinds as I could find and there are huge differences between them. Some are clearly better than others and some just need to be paired with the right foods. This rice is clearly a very fancy rice and after doing some research on it it is spectacular to find rice types such as these in the US. If you look up this brand you will see they offer multiple types of rice and they give you lots of information about the types. Milky Queen is a very soft rice that is very aromatic and sweet. It's really delicious and I found that eating teriyaki chicken with it is amazing. The only other rice that I adore eating teriyaki chicken with is sweet/glutinous rice which takes a lot of time to prepare. This rice comes in super convenient pre-portioned bags and you can cook it in a rice cooker! I would wash the rice before cooking it as with most rice. You won't be disappointed if you try this!"
