IRIS USA made its mark 30 years ago when it became the first company to introduce clear plastic storage containers to the US market. Under parent company IRIS Ohyama of Japan, IRIS USA struggled to make sales in its beginnings. However, within six months, a major west coast retailer picked up the product line, and other retailers quickly followed suit.

Experiencing rapid growth, IRIS USA began offering more storage items, and expanding product lines. Manufacturing and distribution facilities were built in Wisconsin and Texas to keep up with the explosive demand. In 2015, operations expanded to include a new facility in Surprise, Arizona, now the US headquarters of IRIS USA. Recently, in 2020, IRIS USA began operating its newest facility in Hazelton, Pennsylvania.
