Healthy slow cooked chicken ham
This Chicken ham, or more traditionally know as 'Torihamu', is slow-cooked to perfection in our special blend of seasonings and spices. The slow cooking process infuses the meat with a rich flavor, making it a perfect comfort food for any occasion.
0.5 lbs Chicken breast
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
Black pepper, to taste
To get started, you'll need:
Place a chicken breast on a clean chopping board. Slice the long side of the chicken from the centre to left. Do not cut it completely, but leave a little bit so you can open it up.
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt and half a tablespoon of sugar on each side and rub it in. To add more flavour to the chicken, try using other seasonings too like onion powder or garlic powder, and herbs like thyme, sage, or rosemary.
Place some cling wrap on a work surface and roll and wrap the chicken breast tightly. At the same time, shape it into a ham.
Put it in a plastic sandwich bag. Place the plastic sandwich bag into a bowl of water to seal the plastic sandwich without any air pockets.
Place the chicken breast in the pressure cooker and add 1 cup of water. (There should be enough water to completely submerge the ingredients).
From the main menu, select 'Auto Cook' and select 'Chicken Ham' from the recipe presets. Press 'Ok' to start.
Securely attach lid and set the pressure release valve to 'VENT' Press 'Ok' to start.
Once cook time has finished, Confirm that all steam has released from the valve before opening the lid.
Remove bag from the pressure cooker, and allow to cool in a bowl of cold water.
Remove all the plastic, slice, and serve alongside your favorite sides. Enjoy!
