"Overall its a good concept. Having the box open still and the shield is a nice feature for cats that like to throw litter around. A few issues though are that the bottom of the box should be flat. The scoop is terrible, because holes are way to large and the cat droppings fall between the scoop holes. Overall this box is a four. Fix the issues I stated above and you will get five stars."
"I bought this because all the reviews I read said it would fit inside the Merry Pet Cat Washroom Night Stand (which it does) however you can still see the litter box because the height of the bottom is taller then the bottom of the kitty door. But it isn't IRIS's fault that other people are stupid. . so I will say this - it is a nice product!"
"I bought this because my cat likes to kick the litter out of box, making a bigger mess for me to clean. It did solve that problem but only when the lid stays on. My cat like to clean her paws on the side of the lid which makes it fall off. Minus the lid situation, this box works well."
"High sides are better for keeping the litter in the box. I had been using an enclosed box, but it was hard to see what condition the litter was in. Now I can just look down without lifting the partial lid or bending over. Only drawback is the side/top doesn’t latch into place so if you had a rambunctious cat it could get knocked off."
"I saw another review that saying that the top part doesn't lock into the bottom but that hasn't been our experience. I'm able to snap the top sheild to the bottom itter box on the side. It fits well and stays on. My question is: Is there an extended backsplash that snaps into the 4 notches at the back of the sheild? I currently have plastic drop cloth draped into the box because even with the high sides our larger cat manages to sometimes spray over the top."
"So who would think a cat litter box would be beautiful. This one is just that. Having my first cat (she was rescued after being abandoned as a tiny kitten) after having to put my dog to sleep for medical reasons, I used a long foil tray for a few months and decided to get something more visually appealing as well as functional. Of course not to mention the cat litter that was being scattered on the floor. This one looked great and so were the reviews so I gave it a go. This thing is both beautiful and functional - looks quite classy and clean, a big upgrade from what was there previously. Seems pretty strong as well. I washed it with warm rain water and soap before using. It’s big “win / win. If you’re deciding - go for it. I got the black."
"This is nice and tall but with good access for our cats. I purchased 2 of these for our 6 cats. I use it with Sam's Club Scoopable litter and it keeps it a lot cleaner. The cats still get the litter out but with the tall sides it is not as bad as with standard boxes. The lower box is also deeper than our last boxes which allows the crazier cats to mine a trench almost to the bottom piling the litter up the tall walls and with multiple cats allows each one room to do their business in clean litter. The depth and tall walls also allows good movement of the litter for a good cleaning and cycling of the litter for better odor control."

"As others have noted, the shield does not lock on to the box. It just sits on top. I've found this a good thing because it's super easy to take it off to scoop the box. The scoop that comes with the box is useless. I long ago invested in a metal scoop that won't break or crack. I recommend everyone doing the same. This box works well for me and the shield keeps the cats from having a party and throwing litter everywhere."
"This box is so great I bought 3 of them! I have a senior cat (16 years old) who has a very hard time stepping over the side of a traditional (and even other "low" sided) litter box. He had started going outside the boxes because it was too painful for him, and boxes with lids make him crouch down which is even more painful. This box solved all our problems. . . no more potty mistakes and we have a super happy old guy! We have 2 other large breed cats and they prefer these boxes as well."
