SUMMARY:

Processes payroll, maintaining and assisting with HRIS systems and data and workflows, and assists with benefits and HR inquiries and administrative tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilize payroll software, oversee facility employee timesheets to comply with Company policies and procedures to ensure accurate and thorough reporting of time worked, approved leaves of absences, and applicable approved pays
  • Coordinate with temporary agencies for updates to temporary employees’ profiles such as reporting supervisor, ID badge for access to facility and rehire status
  • Administer the time/attendance program ensuring accurate records of employee hours, schedules, departments, and attendance
  • Process payroll deductions including garnishments, benefit premiums, retirement contributions and related deductions in UKG/HRIS system
  • Perform regular audits of pay, deductions, hire, term, position changes, badges, and related employment changes in UKG/HRIS system
  • Manage accurate and timely employee information in human resources system
  • Monitor leave requests and workflow in UKG/HRIS system
  • Assist with data entry on special projects related to payroll system
  • Upload benefit deductions following benefit elections
  • Assist employees with UKG/HRIS in all areas of use including workflows in payroll, employee leaves, and benefits
  • Assist with reconciliation of benefits deductions to vendor billing
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and workflows in HRIS are followed to guidelines and best practices
  • Support HR with coordinating monthly socials and special events
  • Effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders using multiple tools to ensure effective visual communication
  • Perform similar nature level of duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.; and,
  • One (1) year experience in payroll

Knowledge of:

  • Federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations surrounding payroll

Skill in:

  • Using computer hardware, including keyboard, mouse, monitor, and related hardware
  • Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

Perform intermediate math, using Microsoft Excel to find percentage, average, median, quartile, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, and range values

Ability to:

Activities will involve frequent sitting, using a computer, analyzing large amounts of data, communicating verbally and in writing. Exerting 20- 50 pounds occasionally, 10- 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machine requiring continuous and repetitive arm, and hand and eye movement. Move and operate presentation equipment. Travel to and from meetings and various locations inside and outside the building.

The work environment is frequently within an office setting with low to moderate noise, LED lighting, and temperature control while working alongside large groups of employees in cubicle spaces. Incumbents will attend various business meetings and events inside and outside of the buildings and may be required to travel overnight or out of-town for work. Occasional exposure to the manufacturing and distribution plant consisting of moving mechanical parts or heavy machinery, vibrations, fumes, unpleasant odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and moderate to loud noise while in the plant or traveling for work. Work during evenings and weekends as needed.
