SUMMARY

Responsible for developing and achieving department goals and results in alignment with Company strategy and initiatives; manage, train and develop department employees, and create and monitor department budget.  Assesses developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Hire, manage, train, and evaluate Quality Assurance department personnel using performance management and corrective action tools to ensure effective productivity and customer service
  • Manage company’s training curriculum for corporate office employees and assist with operations management training programs by advising of industry training principles
  • Manage company’s performance development program for corporate office employees
  • Coach team leaders in each business segment to achieve even better employee engagement, to include on-boarding processes, skills-based and performance training
  • Develop and sustain with team leaders a high performance culture through continuous improvement of work systems and processes that aid in inspiring, training, developing and guiding leaders to achieve results
  • Design and develop instructional programs including classroom training, e-learning, and performance support using sound instructional design principles 
  • Develop instructional workbooks, facilitator guides, quick reference guides, and assessments
  • Design and implement program evaluations
  • Work with managers and cross functional teams to perform assessment of training and performance competencies and needs analysis
  • Facilitate human resource training programs for frontline and leader associates
  • Revise and maintain training content
  • Constantly review core training in terms of effectiveness and following of Company vision, culture objectives and business strategy
  • Active role as a business partner to assigned division to help leaders reach their department goals
  • Partner to determine strategies to help the business grow in support of both employee and business
  • Assist with Employee Relations support to include coaching, counseling, recommendation for corrective action and approval of separations in conjunction with Company policy and the site’s Human Resources Manager
  • Build and provide Human Resources service support for both leader and hourly associates in conjunction with the site’s Human Resources Manager
  • Work with Human Resources team to advise leaders in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues within assigned area
  • Assist in creating and implementing employee recognition and involvement programs in keeping with the company visionEffectively communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders using multiple tools to ensure effective visual communication
  • Perform similar level or nature of duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, training and development, instructional design, or related field
  • 3 years instructional design & facilitation experience
  • 2 years supervisory or management experience, preferably in consumable products, manufacturing, distribution or retail industries

Knowledge of:

  • Federal, state and local laws and regulations governing human resources functions
  • Contemporary human resources practices and emerging issues
  • Researching, analyzing, manipulating and summarizing data and other information
  • Providing leadership to effectively resolve issues
  • Adult learning principles
  • Various learning styles and effective methods

Skill in:

  • Various applications including Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Delivery of information utilizing various training modules: orally, electronically, in writing and various software and applications for professional and meaningful presentations

Activities will involve frequent sitting, using a computer, analyzing large amounts of data, communicating verbally and in writing. Exerting 20- 50 pounds occasionally, 10- 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machine requiring continuous and repetitive arm, and hand and eye movement. Move and operate presentation equipment. Travel to and from meetings and various locations inside and outside the building.

The work environment is frequently within an office setting with low to moderate noise, LED lighting, and

temperature control while working alongside large groups of employees in cubicle spaces. Incumbents will attend various business meetings and events inside and outside of the buildings, and may be required to travel overnight or out of-town for work. Occasional exposure to the manufacturing and distribution plant consisting of moving mechanical parts or heavy machinery, vibrations, fumes, unpleasant odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, and moderate to loud noise while in the plant or traveling for work. Work during evenings and weekends as needed.
